Meet the band

Mark Lees - Lead Vocals

Mark has been making noise, that some might call singing, since he was a toddler. He says he’s "still rubbish but tries hard". Nevertheless, he fronted Maidstone band ‘10 Dollar,’ made it to the national Rock Idol finals, won several karaoke competitions and, more recently, both won and judged Kent’s Pub Idol competition… so the obvious next step had to be Total Recall!

Chris Smith - Drums

Chris first picked up the drumsticks at 16, influenced by bands including Queen, Thunder, Guns n Roses, and Billy Joel. Previous bands include Mother’s Ruin, Crash Palace, Eyelash Guilt and Joe Cool - where Chris formed a tight musical and personal bond with Paul H and Dave. He is thrilled to be playing alongside them again, with Mark and ‘Barnesy’ in Total Recall.

Paul Hackett - Guitar

Paul has been playing guitar in bands since he was 16, most notably with Joe Cool, as well as recent stints with The Kulpritts and Eyelash Guilt. His influences include artists such as Deep Purple, UFO, Rainbow and Paul Gilbert. He is relishing the challenge of Total Recall, with it's broad spectrum of styles of music, there really is something for everyone.

Dave Upton - Bass Guitar

Dave first picked up the bass in the mid 1980s, to play with a band of friends in a caravan in the drummer's back garden. Although influenced by the funky sounds of bands like Level 42 and Sade, Dave's two stints with pub rock band 'Joe Cool' brought out his rockier side. He is now enjoying the broader spectrum of music that Total Recall's varied repertoire has to offer.

Paul Barnes - Keyboards

Paul has been playing keyboards since he was 12. Over the years he's played in
many local bands, and guested with a few as well. Highlights include 'Born 2
B' and more recently 'Zambu'. Paul is looking forward to trying to recreate
the necessary sounds for Total Recall's set list... He loves a challenge!
